Wet Hire Machinery

At Far North Plumbing, our wide fleet of excavation equipment is available for wet hire. Whether it’s for addressing existing drainage issues or for digging new trenches, we provide the right machinery to get the job done efficiently.

Backhoe Loader

Our versatile equipment can do the job of 3 different excavating machines: a tractor, a loader, and backhoe.

Tractor

Our backhoe ladder can easily move over any type of ground, from concrete roads to rough and muddy terrain. It has a powerful diesel engine and huge, rugged tires that provide power and traction on any kind of landscape.

Loader

We have a mounted loader in front of this equipment that can be used to perform a variety of excavation-related functions. Our operators use this to pick up and carry huge amounts of loose materials for cleaning worksite grounds. We use this attachment like a butter knife to smooth grounds over. Our qualified drivers use this part like a plough to push dirt.

Backhoe

This is our equipment's primary tool, which our licensed operators use to dig up solid and dense materials like earth or to lift very heavy loads like a sewer box. Unlike the loader, we can use the backhoe to lift and transfer heavy loads to the sides without moving the equipment.

Mini Excavator

Are you planning to do plumbing excavations in tight spaces such as occupied parking areas or a small property? We offer both a 3.5 tonne and a 1550kg mini excavator that can enter tight spaces and rotate 360 degrees. For wet hire only.

Bobcat Attachments

We dig holes fast and accurately regardless of soil condition with our Bobcat post hole auger attachment. Our digger features a heavy-duty hydraulic system and high torque that allow it to efficiently and easily pierce even the rockiest and hardest landscapes.

Regardless of soil density and condition, our licensed operators can dig trenches for your water lines, drainages and irrigation systems with ease and efficiency. Our Bobcat trencher attachment can cut into any ground, regardless of the soil’s rockiness and toughness. If you need to dig trenches near structures and objects, we can cut with high accuracy and avoid damage with this attachment.

Tipper Truck

Move large amounts of earth quickly and efficiently with our 8-tonne tipper truck. No need to worry about getting somebody to operate it because every hire comes with one of our licensed operators.

Crane Truck

We can help you safely and efficiently lift very heavy items like concrete pipes, sewer boxes and pump stations. Our 12-tonne flat-body truck is equipped with a heavy-duty Palfinger 19000 crane and is available for wet hire.

Lighting Tower

You can count on our high-performance lighting towers to provide adequate lighting for safety and efficiency. Unlike all our other excavation equipment, this one’s available for dry hire.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between wet and dry hire?

The difference lies in whether the hire includes a licensed operator. With wet hire, the equipment you hire includes an operator. On the other hand, dry hire means you only hire the equipment and you’ll have to look for somebody to operate it.

How deep can a mini excavator dig?

Depending on the size, a mini excavator can dig holes 10 to 14 feet deep. A 1,800 to 2,700-kilo mini can dig up to 10 feet while a 4,500 to 5,400-kilo excavator can go down to 14 feet.

Which is better: A backhoe loader or a mini excavator?

Because of their 3-in-1 nature, backhoe loaders are usually preferred over a mini excavator. However, the latter is a better choice when working in relatively tighter spaces and if a 360-degree rotation is needed.
